Strawbery Banke, NH

June 10-11, 2000

Strawbery Banke is a very historic area in Portsmouth, NH. It's a large collection of buildings which together form a sort of open-air museum. One can visit the buildings themselves, including a real museum, but the area itself presents a village as one would have seen it in Colonial times.

We were there as the King's Rangers, mostly for ceremonial reasons. The organizers wished for us to take part in a parade and a ceremony to lay wreaths in the old cemetery by the Naval base (the oldest working Naval base in the US). Only three of us were there: me, Sgt. Paul Stevens, and Pvt. Ed Gagnon.

Here's a picture of me, with some of the old buildings in the background.

Ladies in the Camp This picture shows of some of the ladies in the camp (a very small camp, as few people were there) with more of the historic buildings in the background.
