This is Robert Troisi. He is a Private with the
, and occasionally
"bombardier" (gun captain) for his gun. He is also with St. Onge and other units.
I have seen the him at Rev War events, as you can see below, but this photo was
taken at ,
his first F&I event,
This is the one of the cannons of the
, with the
in the background.
It's a gorgeous cannon, and
the Fort at 4 is a wonderful fort. It is right on the Connecticut River, and the mists in
the Connecticut River valley are typical. It's a great setting.
Here's Robert in his Rev War duds at Fort Ticonderoga, September 2001,
for which his group portrays Gridley's Artillery.
(And no, this is not the Gridley who was
behind "You may fire when ready, Gridley". That Gridley came much, much later.)
By the way, if any of you buy the The Mountain-Lake PBS video Then Again: Reliving History at Fort Ticonderoga (which you should
do, as it's wonderful, and we are in it a lot!) from the you will see cannons firing in the darkness; that was from Robert's unit firing
after dark the day this picture was taken. That was VERY cool -- 8 cannons firing
into the night...
