The original Kittanning 2000 Expedition retraced the route of Lt. Colonel John Armstrong and 307 men of the Pennsylvania Provincial Forces from Fort Shirley (Shirleysburg, Huntingdon County) to Kit-ta-ne (Kittanning, Armstrong County) in 1756. The only offensive move taken by the Pennsylvania Provincial Government during the French and Indian War, Armstrong's attack was a strike back at the Native Americans in retaliation for countless raids and attacks on the frontier. Come inside and learn about this brief but important period in Pennsylvania's history. We were a British Colony and many years away from the war for Independence. Enjoy our site and please let us know what you think of it by signing our Guest Book. Don't forget to join us in 2006 for the 250th Anniversary March!. Inside you will find links to historical web sites and reenactor/living history web sites. If you would like to link to our site, please email Lane Savage with your request.
